Information is abundant on the web and unlike in the old days where you needed reference materials such as Encyclopedias to support claims as far as research and studies are concerned, a simple visit to online sites such as Wikipedia can provide all the information you will ever need.

It is easier these days to defend claims. Reference and supporting links are important today to make sure that validity of claims are factual.
